They did it! The world's worst national team broke a 140-match winless streak

Today will forever be remembered in the small European nation of San Marino.
The San Marino national football team, which holds the last spot in the FIFA rankings, finally secured a victory! In the first round of the UEFA Nations League's League D, San Marino narrowly defeated Liechtenstein 1-0. The only goal was scored by 19-year-old attacking midfielder Nico Sensoli.

This victory ended a 140-match winless streak for San Marino. Their previous victory came on April 28, 2004, also against Liechtenstein, though that match was a friendly.
Overall, this is just the second win in San Marino's history and their first in an official competition.
